Most Puissant Sovereign Grand Commander
Otis F. Clopton was sworn in as the Most Puissant Sovereign Grand Commander
of the United Supreme Council on August 5, 1998 at the meeting held in
Detroit, MI. Presently, he enjoys the privilege of remaining in office for
a second term that began on August 5, 2000. M.P.S.G.C. Clopton served in various
positions in the United Supreme Council prior to his election to this
position.
M.P.S.G.C. Clopton has an extensive Masonic background and he is serving his eight
and final year (Per Constitution) as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons, of
The Most Worshipful Hiram of Tyre Grand Lodge, A.F.&A.M., jurisdictional State of
California. Presently, there are 51 local lodges and 39 chapters in Golden Poppy Grand
Chapter which he is responsible.
He joined the Masonic organization in 1965, and still remains a member of St Andrews Lodge No. 16, in San Bernardino, California. He served in several Freemasonic
compacities was well as consistently maintaining a faithful membership. Such Great Works are;
    * Right Worshipful Master of his Lodge.
    * Organizer of the Lodge of Perfection and served as its first Trice Puissant Grand Master.
    * Organizer of Palestine Shrine Temple No. 2, serving as the Illustrious Grand Potentate.
    * Member of the Inland Valley Past Masters Council.
    * Member of the Royal Arch, and Knights Templar.
    * Served as ILL Commanding Chief of Empire Consistory N0 12.
Prior to becoming The Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Hiram of
Tyre Grand Lodge, he served as: District Deputy, Grand Lodge Trustee, and
The Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master.
Since taking the office of M.P.S.G.C., he has worked to establish changes
that has enhanced the overall well-being of the Council, while strengthening
the membership ties of the Council's Scottish Rite Freemasons. Under
his direction, new divisions are being created to introduce the public to
the great work of the Council through the use of the Internet and web-based
email systems. The first Website was created during the first term of
Clopton and it is an asset to the members and the public. M.P.S.G.C. Clopton is
more than pleased with the efforts and results that we enjoy and this is due
to the COMMITTEE that made this happen.
M.P.S.G.C. Clopton was born in Alabama, and he relocated to California in 1955
when he attended College in San Bernardino, California. He was employed
with the California Department of Transportation, and later maintained a 17 year employ with a Large Civil
Engineering Construction Contractor. In 1986, he formed his
own Construction firm, OJB, Inc. One of his first contracts was the Widening of a Bridge over the I-5 Freeway in
Los Angeles, California.
In the Construction Industry, he has made his mark, such as:
    * General Engineering "A" Contractors License.
    * P.E. "Safety Engineer" State of California.
    * 1988 "Highway Contractor of the Year".
    * Various Apprenticeship Committees.
    * Served as Vice Chair of JTPA, County of San Bernardino.
    * Served as President of NAACP, San Bernardino, CA (Life Member).
    * Currently serving as member of "Workforce Investment Board, (Appointed by the Governor).
    * Currently serving as Deacon at New Hope Missionary Baptish Church, San Bernardino, CA
       (previously served as Trustee).
M.P.S.G.C. Clopton is married to Denice Brue-Clopton. Denice attended Spellman College and graduated "with
honors". She now has her own Law Practice in Riverside, California where they reside.
M.P.S.G.C. Clopton has one Daughter (Teaching School in Atlanta, GA),
Son-in-Law (Civil Engineer for B & E Jackson Engineers, Atlanta, GA), one grandson and one grand daughter.
